Reading the site requires nothing from you

Reading the articles and looking at the formulas and worked examples on the tool pages needs no sign-up. To enter your own numbers into a tool you need to sign in to a member account (free), apart from the three tools for IBs. IBFX only stores data about you once you open a member account yourself, and only the items listed just below.

Data collected when you open a member account

  • To sign you in: your email address and the authentication method, both managed by Supabase Auth. IBFX does not use passwords: you sign in through a link sent to your email.
  • Profile: the display name you choose, your account role, and your IB code at CXM if you enter it yourself to be verified.
  • What you enter yourself: your trading journal (symbol, direction, position size, price, time, profit and loss, notes) and the saved settings of each tool.
  • What IBFX admins can see: each member's display name, sign-in email, role, IB code and join date, so they can give support and verify IBs. The admin page shows only this information; it does not show your trading journal or your saved tool settings. Every time an admin changes a role or verifies an IB it is logged, and that log entry is deleted together with your account.

The sign-in system is shared with ALFA Software (alfasoftwares.com), another product running on the same infrastructure. Signing up at IBFX creates nothing on the ALFA Software side: a profile exists there only once you go and use ALFA Software yourself. None of your data at IBFX (journal, settings) moves across.

Where it is stored and how long it is kept

Your data sits on Supabase, in the Singapore region (ap-southeast-1), which means it is stored outside the territory of Vietnam. The servers that run the site are at Vercel. Your data is kept until you delete your account; deleting the account also deletes your profile, journal, settings and sign-in email, and none of it can be restored. The one exception: if you are also using ALFA Software, the sign-in email and the ALFA side of it are kept for your ALFA account; all of your IBFX data is still deleted.

When your data goes outside IBFX

IBFX does not sell data and does not hand it to advertisers. There are exactly three cases where data leaves IBFX: the infrastructure providers (Supabase stores the data, Vercel runs the site, and the service that sends the sign-in emails); ALFA Software, which shares the sign-in system and therefore sees your sign-in email, as described above; and where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can see and correct your own data right inside the account area, and delete your account at any time in Account settings. To ask what data is being kept, or to have IBFX delete it for you, get in touch through the channels at the bottom of this page. IBFX replies within 30 days.

When you contact IBFX

The Contact page only carries links that open Telegram and email; there is no form. When you send a message or an email, IBFX receives your display name or your email address along with what you send. The messages stay on the service you used (Telegram, your email provider) and are handled under that service's own policy.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to see which pages are useful. It stores a cookie on your device, so it only runs after you click Agree in the box that appears the first time you visit. If you click Decline, or have not answered yet, the site sets no cookies and sends nothing to Google.

Once you have agreed, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… to count page views and tell returning visitors apart. IBFX turns off the advertising and personalization data, sets data retention to 14 months, and only looks at totals rather than identifying you. The site runs no advertising.

You can change your mind at any time:

Clearing site data in your browser settings also removes these cookies.

Fonts are served from ibfx.info itself; nothing is requested from Google Fonts.

The calculators

The tool pages (pip value, for instance) calculate right inside your browser; the calculation never needs the server. Apart from the three tools for IBs (IB commission estimate, multi-level rebate split, CXM liquidity limits), the calculator part only opens once you are signed in.

When you are signed in, the values you enter in a tool are saved to your account, so you see them when you open the tool on another device. You can view and delete them tool by tool in Account settings. Your browser also keeps those values in local storage (localStorage) on your own device, and writes them into the address bar so that you can share the link.

The three tools for IBs work without signing in; the numbers you enter then are not sent to the server and stay in local storage on your device. IBFX cannot read data stored on your device; to remove it, clear the site data in your browser settings.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web server, Vercel records the IP address, the browser type and the time of each visit, in order to run the service and to fend off attacks. That happens under Vercel's own policy; IBFX does not use those records to identify you.

Links to other websites

Articles link out to other websites, among them referral (affiliate) links to CXM Direct, HFM and Tickmill. When you click a link, that website may set a cookie to record that you came from IBFX. Data you provide when you open an account with a broker is handled by the broker under its own policy.

Cookies when you sign in

Once you have signed in, the site sets a session cookie managed by Supabase (its name starts with sb-) to keep you signed in, and a marker cookie named ibfx_dn so that the page knows whether to show the account area and to open the calculator part of the tools. The marker cookie holds no personal data. Signing out deletes both cookies. They are different from the analytics cookies in the section above: the sign-in cookies are needed for the site to work, while the analytics cookies are only set if you click Agree.

When this policy changes

If the site adds a form, an analytics tool or advertising, this page will be updated before the change takes effect. Changes that affect member accounts will be announced by email beforehand. See also Terms of use.
