The broker I use: CXM Direct

I have researched and written about plenty of Forex brokers. Introducing several at once only makes the choice harder, so IBFX introduces one broker, the one I use and follow closely: CXM Direct.

This page sets out why I chose this broker, the risks you need to know first, who the broker suits and how to start safely.

Why I chose CXM Direct

Nine points I find worth having, including the points CXM makes on its home page that IBFX was able to check in the broker’s own documents.

  • Start with a small amount

A Cent account takes a deposit from 10 USD, with position sizes from 0.01 lots. After a spell on demo you trade real money while the profit or loss per pip stays very small.

  • A familiar platform

MT4 and MT5 on the desktop, on the phone and in the browser. CXM Trader connects to TradingView without a paid TradingView plan (according to CXM).

  • Several product groups

Forex, gold and metals, indices, energy, crypto and stocks; since Aug 24, 2026 there are more than 700 US stocks on MT5 and CXM Trader as well.

  • Gold trading at the weekend too

The symbol XAUUSD247 (launched Jul 22, 2026) trades gold 24/7, Saturday and Sunday included. Liquidity is thin at the weekend, so the spread can be a good deal wider.

  • Tools that come with the account

Copy trading and PAMM come with a statistics table for each signal provider, Trading Central installs into MT4 and MT5, and the VPS keeps an EA running without a break.

  • No restriction on strategy

The Account types page allows EAs (robots) and scalping, with position sizes from 0.01 lots on Forex.

  • No swap charged

The account page states that no overnight fee is charged. The policy can differ by product: check the swap column in the contract specification for each symbol in MT4 and MT5.

  • The leverage policy is published in full

The leverage table by account equity, the windows where leverage is cut around news and at the weekend, the 120% margin call and the 30% stop out are all written on the website.

  • Negative balance protection

CXM undertakes that a client does not lose more than the account balance, on CXM Trader accounts as well. This is the broker’s own undertaking, and no regulator supervises it.

What to know before you open an account

No broker is perfect. These are the weak points I see at CXM Direct.

  • The legal entity holds no brokerage license. Clients who sign up through cxmvn.net contract with CXM Direct LLC in St. Vincent & the Grenadines. The FCA license belongs to CXM Prime Ltd, a company that does not take individual clients. See the IBFX guide on the entity and the license of CXM Direct.
  • The costs are not published in full. The account page does not give the spread and the commission for each account type; the website has no table of limits or of deposit and withdrawal times. Measure the spread yourself on a demo account and ask the support desk before you choose an account type.
  • The leverage is very high. 1:2000 and "unlimited" let you open a large position with little money, and they also blow up an account faster. I recommend low leverage. See the IBFX guide on unlimited leverage at CXM Direct.
  • CXM Earn ties the reward to trading volume. The program can easily push you to trade more than you need to; read the terms closely before you join.
  • Vietnamese law gives you no protection. Trading Forex through a foreign broker carries the risk of being treated as a breach of the foreign exchange regulations; in a dispute you mostly fall back on the broker’s own policy. See the IBFX guide on whether Forex is legal in Vietnam.

Reading CXM’s 12 selling points properly

The "Why choose CXM?" section on CXM’s home page lists 12 points. IBFX checked each one against the broker’s documents, updated Sep 25, 2026.

What CXM advertisesIBFX’s note
"Negative balance protection""Powerful copy trading tools" Both are in CXM’s policy and in its platform. Negative balance protection is the broker’s own undertaking; with an entity that holds no brokerage license, no authority supervises whether it is honored.
"Swap-free trading""No restrictions on trading" The Account types page states that no swap is charged and that EAs and scalping are allowed. The swap policy can differ by product: check the swap column in the contract specification for each symbol in MT4 and MT5.
"Trade assets from 0 spread" The product pages carry a spread table for each symbol (on Sep 16, 2026: EURUSD 0.4 pip, XAUUSD 0.07 USD per ounce) but do not say which account type it applies to, and the commission is not published anywhere; a zero spread usually comes with a commission. Measure the spread on a demo account and ask support@cxm.com about the commission before you choose.
"Unlimited leverage" It only applies to Standard and ECN accounts with a balance up to 1,000 USD, after at least two trades, and it does not apply to several product groups. The higher the leverage, the faster an account blows up. See the IBFX guide on unlimited leverage at CXM Direct.
"Instant account opening""Instant deposits and withdrawals" Signing up is quick, but your KYC documents have to be approved before you can withdraw. The website does not publish the time, the fee or the limit for each method; money goes back to the source you deposited from. Deposit a small amount and test a withdrawal first. See the IBFX guide on opening an account.
"STP ECN technology""Optimal liquidity""The best conditions for trading gold" CXM’s own assessment, with no execution figures and no liquidity provider named to check it against. Track the spread and the slippage yourself with small orders; for gold, see the IBFX guide on trading gold at CXM Direct.
"An excellent partner program" It is meant for introducing brokers (IBs) and partners, and it does not change your own trading conditions. IBFX is a referral partner of CXM Direct, as disclosed at the top of this page.

Who does CXM Direct suit?

It suits you if

  • You have learned the basics and spent long enough trading on demo.
  • You want to start with real money at a small size, through a Cent account.
  • You use MT4, MT5 or EAs, or you are used to analyzing on TradingView.
  • You have read and accept the risk of contracting with an entity that holds no brokerage license.

It does not suit you yet if

  • You are completely new and do not yet understand pips, lots, leverage and stop losses.
  • You need a regulator supervising your own account, and a compensation fund behind it.
  • You would be using borrowed money, money you live on, or an amount you cannot afford to lose.
  • You want a steady monthly income out of trading.

How to start safely

Four steps I recommend taking in order, before you deposit a large amount.

  1. Learn before you deposit

Get a grip on pips, lots, leverage, stop losses and position sizing. Start with the Forex basics category.

  2. Open the account and verify it

Sign up through the referral link, read the name of the legal entity in the agreement, and get your identity document and a proof of address ready. See the IBFX guide on opening an account.

  3. Practice on demo, then move to Cent

Choose low leverage and always set a stop loss; only move up to Standard or ECN once you have held on to your discipline. See the IBFX guide on the CXM Direct account types.

  4. Deposit small, test a withdrawal first

The money you deposit and withdraw has to be in your own name, and it is paid back to the source you deposited from. Withdraw part of it to learn how long that really takes, and only then add more.
