Each session runs from 8:00 to 17:00 local working hours in that financial center, Monday to Friday, as set out in the IBFX guide to the Forex trading sessions. Other sources can differ by about an hour.

Session open and close times in GMT+7, summer and winter
SessionSummer (about March–October)Winter
Australian session (Sydney) 05:00–14:00 04:00–13:00
Asian session (Tokyo) 06:00–15:00 06:00–15:00
European session (London) 14:00–23:00 15:00–00:00
US session (New York) 19:00–04:00 20:00–05:00
  • "Summer" here means the northern one, when Europe and the US are on daylight saving time. Australia switches the other way round, so the Sydney session starts an hour earlier in winter. The US switches a few weeks before Europe in March and about a week after it in late October; the tool above gets those weeks right on its own.
  • The trading week opens at 17:00 on Sunday and closes at 17:00 on Friday New York time (21:00 or 22:00 UTC), which is around 4:00 or 5:00 on Monday and Saturday morning in GMT+7.
  • London and New York are both open from about 19:00 to 23:00 (summer) or 20:00 to 24:00 (winter) in GMT+7 — 8:00 to 12:00 in New York either way — and that is usually when prices move most.
